Over 1.5 bn NOK in new contracts to Apply

Apply has over the last weeks been awarded contracts worth over 1.5 billion NOK. In addition to significant contracts in Norway, new projects as far apart as Canada and Australia confirm the Group’s growing international scope.

Living Quarters to the Hebron platform, offshore Canada

Worley Parsons has announced the intent to award the contract for supply of the Living Quarters for ExxonMobil`s Hebron Field offshore Newfoundland, Canada, to the Apply Leirvik/ GJ Cahill Group Partnership.  The contract includes delivery of a 7 floor Living Quarters Module with an area of 5300 sq.m. and a capacity of 120 double cabins, administration center, central control room and all other facilities required for operation of an offshore hotel.

All work shall be performed in the St John`s project office and at Newfoundland yards. Apply Leirvik`s prime responsibilities within the Partnership is project management, engineering, procurement and construction supervision.  15 to 20 senior personnel and specialists from Apply will work in the St. Johns project office.

Modifications on the Gullfaks C platform, Norway

Apply Sørco has been awarded a contract by Statoil for topside modifications related to subsea compression on Gullfaks. The project will increase the wellhead pressure and production from the field. The contract includes installation of new equipment and technical solutions on the platform to operate the subsea compression system from the Gullfaks C platform.

The compression system is electrically powered from Gullfaks and therefore requires new electrical equipment on the platform. The work also includes upgrading of instrumentation and control systems, structural modifications, tie-in of the control cable from the subsea installation and connection to the platform systems.

The contract will employ a total of 180 staff. The work will start immediately at the company headquarters in Stavanger and will continue until November 2015.

Subsea Hot Tap Tees to the Ichtys pipeline, Australia

Apply Nemo, through its Australian subsidiary Apply Nemo Pty Ltd,  has secured a contract from for the Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) of subsea diverless Hot Tap Tees for the US$34 billion Ichthys LNG Project.

The hot tap tees will be welded as an integral part of the 889km long 42-inch gas export pipeline which runs from the Ichthys Field to the onshore processing facility in Darwin. The hot tap tees enable future fields to be connected to this main trunk line.

Pre-installed tees dramatically reduce the future costs of field modification. This is the first time diverless hot tap tees have been used in Australia, confirming Apply Nemo’s strategy of technology transfer from its North Sea operations where it has successfully installed both pre-installed and retro-fit hot tap tees.

Frame agreements for electrical and electronics maintenance, Norway

Apply TB, the Apply Group’s electrical contractor, has been awarded two significant frame agreements:  A four-year contract from the Olav Thon Group for maintenance work on its hotels and shopping centers in the Hordaland and Rogaland regions, and a five-year contract from the Royal Norwegian Navy for maintenance work on its new frigates.

Upgrade of gas turbines on the Troll C platform, Norway

Apply Sørco has been awarded the contract by Statoil for the conversion of one of the main generating gas turbines on Troll C to a low NOx turbine. The upgrade is an environmental measure to reduce NOx emissions from the platform.

The contract is valued at approximately 270 million NOK and includes the installation of a water treatment plant that demineralises and softens seawater for injection into the turbine. In addition the contract includes upgrading of the turbine itself and its control system.

Concept study for future gas processing and export, Goliat field, Norwegian Arctic

Apply Sørco has been awarded a FEED contract by Eni Norway to verify and develop a concept for a future gas treatment and export at the Goliat field in the Norwegian Arctic, including a sensitivity analysis for future field expansion potential.  The contract includes process analyses and multidiscipline engineering regarding installation of gas treatment plant and gas export solutions on the Goliat FPSO. The contract will employ a total of 40 engineers at Apply’s offices in Stavanger and Aberdeen. The work will start immediately will continue until February 2013.
