New contract to Apply Leirvik

Apply Leirvik today announced the award of an EPC contract from Statoil for delivery of a Living Quarter and Helideck to the new Gudrun Platform.

The contract includes delivery of a new Living Quarters Module with an area of 2000 m2 and a capacity of 40 single cabins, administration centre, central control room and all other necessary facilities required for operation of an offshore living quarters facility. The contract value is around 45 MUSD.

The Living Quarters and Helideck will be constructed in aluminium. Low weight, minimum life cycle maintenance and an environmentally sound solution were the most important arguments when Statoil made their decision to use aluminium.

Planning and design engineering will start immediately and prefabrication of aluminium will start in March 2011, with delivery of the module scheduled for July 2012. Hook-up of the LQ module to the deck of the Gudrun platform will take place at Aibel’s yard in Haugesund.

-We appreciate the confidence Statoil demonstrates by this award, Managing Director Harald Karlsson states. – This is Apply Leirvik’s 20th Living Quarter delivery to Statoil, and an important contribution to our order book.
